Just got this email. For those of you that haven't here's the scoop.
You will have noticed by now that we have launched a fresh new website and forums through our publisher Codemasters Online's existing web space. We've done this for numerous reasons, but the most exciting of course is that we're getting ready for the testing process. We know that this may create some confusion for our existing fanbase, so we wanted to send out a letter to help you through the new registration process and address any concerns that you may have.

Yep that's right. If your game is a big enough hit and interesting nowadays you get a movie. Imagine Jumpgate Evolution the movie. I will go see it if only for the reason that I like the game so much. Gore Verbinski will make it so let's hope it's at least as good as Pirates of the Caribbean. Take-Two did not disclose financial terms of the deal or other details, such as when the film would be released. The company is the target of a $2 billion takeover bid by rival game publisher Electronic Arts Inc.
Released last August for Microsoft Corp's Xbox 360 game console, "BioShock" won praise for its complex story, haunting art deco atmosphere and creepy characters such as Big Daddies and Little Sisters.
"BioShock" has sold more than 2 million copies and Take-Two is working on a sequel.
The "BioShock" movie deal is the latest sign of the growing importance of video games in popular culture.

I will be doing a lot of work on the site in the near future which may cause lot's of problems for you as I do them. We are far behind on vBulletin updates so I will have to do a lot of manual template edits because of the customized style. Just a warning to all you lurkers. I figure hardly anyone is posting, nothing new has come from Jumpgate Evolution in months, and the devs never come here anymore. So I might as well tear the place up and get it up to par.
Of course this will mean exciting new features. It will also mean some old ones may not function. I doubt it but you never know.
So just a heads up for you. If you find problems let me know. I may start this in a few days.

Since so many jge sites are popping up I cleaned up our old webring code and updated it for Jumpgate Evolution. Feel free to register your site and add the code to your pages. This ring has been up for 4 years now and has had varied activity but has slowed since Jumpgate Classic has faded. Maybe it will get active again with Jumpgate Evolution and all the new sites.
Anyway, it's free and it's been running a long time without fail. Give it a try.

After considerable work by NetDevil's full-time webmaster over the last several months, I am pleased to finally announce that NetDevil is about to establish a new billing system for Jumpgate Classic and other NetDevil products.
NetDevil's new billing system is expected to resolve a large number of longstanding problems, as well as the recent, very serious problem of the failure of automated account activation.

Well JSR finally launched it's own Battle Station for Jumpgate Evolution and wouldn't you know it. Some little hot shot in a Halcyon has to start trying to blow it up. Someone tell GrimGriz to man the turrets before it's too late. Looks like he is going for the power core.

Sent to us from Shawn at StarWraith Games.Evochron Renegades version 1.508 is now available for download and includes the improvements and fixes listed below. This update is required to retain multiplayer compatibility as it is not compatible with earlier versions. The installer also works as an updating program for older versions of the game. Remember those cool 3D posters someone posted a while back but weren't available yet? Well now they are. I am going to get the Star Wars one for my boys and the Harry Potter one for my Girl.
